Classic Cakes began in the Spring of 1983 in Brentwood, Tennessee. After a wedding I had attended a few weeks before, it dawned on me that I had eaten far too many wedding cakes that were nice to look at, but unfortunately, virtually inedible (what friends jokingly called the 'cardboard and Crisco syndrome').

 

Wondering why the visual and culinary aspects of a wedding cake could not
co-exist (something I believed in my heart could be done), I set out to create original cake and icing recipes, by experimenting with flavors, textures, and ingredients until the perfect combinations of beauty and flavor were achieved.

 

That was over 30 years ago and we're still going strong!
